February seems so long ago when I consider all of the many things I have learned in my short journey, and when I consider the idea of graduation in 3 weeks. Initially beginning this journey, I did not know whether I would enjoy learning a completely new skill set and I did not know if I would have the patience to endure the long road ahead me. Luckily, I was introduced to an amazing group of mentors, instructors and supporters. Throughout my Codetalk journey I have learned the true meaning of allowing the universe to unfold. I have been given the opportunity to gain some invaluable knowledge and i truly look forward to applying that knowledge when this bootcamp course is over.

My initial thoughts revolved around taking my new skill set and working for an employer who would want me to person at a much quicker pace than what I am set out for. This concept in itself was very nerve racking and caused quite a bit of anxiety because I was unable to process the idea of not being great at something. However, with continued practice and dedication, I have become more proficient in html, CSS, SASS, and I have learned the importance and function around webpacks. I have become more familiar and comfortable with the use of Github and terminal line commands. I have also taken interest to the one things that initially gave me a tough time; media queries. With a closer look at the road ahead of me, I have been able to identify a few key skill sets that are necessary in order for me to be great at my job which is designing and coding.

Looking further into the future at the possibilities around employment brings a bit of uncertainty because I wonder if I will have the opportunity to initially start out at a company that will support me as I grow my knowledge base. I did a bit of research on several companies that bring optimism to my sights, and I was happy to discover that many tech startups are very open to the idea of entry level coders and design engineers. I was also happy to know there are several companies such as Uber who are already established who are looking for lower level software and design engineers. I would not mind working with a company such as uber because they are innovative. From my research and understanding, Uber is currently in the market and testing phases of hover taxis. This is an ingenious idea because traffic on the ground is becoming overwhelming for the normal rush hour driver and it at this rate, it only makes sense to develop strategies around how to use the available airspace.

This particular technology is going to be greatly innovative because the software, engineer, and development team will need to work hand in hand to ensure that the application not only properly executes the normal function of ordering a ride and delivering a service, but the technology needs to be integrated on a platform that takes into consideration the air traffic control rules and routes that have already been established. This is going to be a very innovative run in technology because it brings to society not only a service that is needed, but a technology that forces the innovators of the field to implement a platform to support the technology.

I feel confident in the forward movement of my tech career although it is just beginning because I not only have amazing support, but I now have the confidence to move forward on a new journey. Finding a niche in the tech field will bring more confidence and that is why my main focus has been around the project management sector. I can definitely foresee myself in a dedicated role such as this because it allows me to utilize all of my leadership skills to accomplish a task. I have a knack leading and directing to the point of completion and I believe my communication skills as well as my ability to problem solve will be major assets to me. I am feeling a low level of anxiety around applying for positions because I have a negative thought and emotion around the questions that will be asked. My tech specific knowledge bank is just growing, therefore, it is my main mission to become more well-versed in the area of coding and technology. Overall, I am excited about my next steps.
