The year 2020 is upon us and when I consider that I was born in 1987, I have seen things in our society and environment change a great deal. I consider the sophistication of a refrigerator nowadays. The fridge not only keeps your foods at a regulated temperature, but it can now take a real time picture and send it to your phone while you are at the grocery store so you will know what you are short on. It is almost unbelievable. Can you believe it? Advancements like this make me smile because they are the very reasons I am thoroughly interested in web development and technology.

Now, I have no intentions on creating a life-like refrigerator, however, I have every intention on creating amazing front end visuals and UX platforms that entice a user/consumer/supporter to fall in love with my brand and mission. My life purpose is to serve people whole-heartedly with every bit of love I have. Web development and technology will allow me to further my online presence and user platform for my current projects in development: RagzOnly & Captain Kooalien.

RagzOnly is a social media and networking platform for all people and groups involved in the motorcycle community. The idea behind this platform is to create a safe space and marketplace for those with common interests. Mechanics can find clients and vice versa. If you have a bike to sell, or you are looking for one to buy, come to RagzOnly. Are you someone who always rides alone and you are now looking for a group of people to engage with? RagzOnly. This platform is inclusive of the 99% as well as the 1%ers.

Additionally, the Captain Kooalien platform is specifically for children to learn basic life skills, but most of all, to be taught that “It is OK to be different.” The interactive children’s books and website will consist of bright colors and animation. The functionality of the site, etc will be majorly important to the success of this project which depends totally on my ability to transition from a life insurance and investments work environment, to a web design and graphic art environment.

After I have obtained the necessary knowledge and information to be effective and successful whether it be individually or on a tech team, I will take my ideas full steam ahead, while of course, building my skillset through continued education. Working with an established tech company will definitely help me land on my feet in the industry and I am more than excited about that. Although this is a new field and I have no previous connection to the field besides turning my computer and electronic devices on, downloading and app or program, and clicking around. Barriers will surface due to my lack of history in the field, however, I look forward to thriving.

Usual life happenings have been my consistent barriers here lately. Namely: a warm/safe place to sleep at night, food to eat and proper transportation. All of these things that were considered basic necessities 6 months ago are vitally important to me today. Most might read this and not believe a person who speaks this way, and builds in this way could be going through so much, however, for some, this is life! Moving forward, once those things are on track, my only barriers will be the facets of knowledge I do not yet possess. So long as I can continuously learn, I will continue to be successful.

Ways for me to ensure my success would include:

1. Continue to be mentally and physically present.

2. Apply for tech positions often and early.
