Great Tech Resources

Great Tech Resources

YOUTUBE is one of the largest, if not the largest video content provider of our generation!
In the world of tech and web development, I have come across several awesome resources but I can honestly say that I love youtube.com as my source for all tutorials and creative idea development because there are people from so many different tech communities who think different, build differently, and carry a different perspective than their neighbor. Some of the best thought-out and explained tutorials can be found via this medium and the best and worst part about it is that anyone can post to youtube.com. The first tutorial I came across was one titled “How to create an Augmented Reality App.” The title in itself was fascinating to because augmented reality will eventually allow individuals to enjoy their AR and VR more than actual reality. Furthermore, I think it is even more amazing that someone would want to share with information with his/her peer and not expect anything in return for it. YouTube has been a major contributor of content for the tech community and other professions as well. Youtube is great for self-learning and deeper training outside of a normal days work.

Moving forward, I began to tailor my search to actual tech news and similar websites, I came across “You the Designer” which is a company on the U Create platform. This company is amazing because they have compiled a website full of resources such as specialty fonts, graphic design articles that give you specific idea and instruction on projects you may have on the horizon. There are freebie resources, as well as an “Inspiration” section that highlights beautiful graphic design work, artists and creators that have created original content that has caused a buzz, and there is also a tab specifically for “You the Entrepreneur”. This is my favorite space on the site because it brings light to those who are not so cut out to work a 9-5 job each day. The resources compiled on this site are beyond useful. http://www.ucreative.com/business/ is the site that can be visited.

The original Nintendo Gameboy was awesome, but Gameboy Color was definitely a step up.
Lastly, I was able to explore https://www.theverge.com/ which was an absolute pleasure. This dynamic resource encompasses tech news, creations by unknown/undiscovered creators, reviews, science news, and other amazing categories of information. The content that initially drew me to this website was the main page which held content around the old school Nintendo Game Boy! That alone caught my eye because as a child born in the 80’s and raised in the 90’s, the Nintendo Game Boy was the toy to have. On the site, the writer spoke of how this toy paved the way for the Nintendo Switch. I think this is awesome because the Gameboy was a simple handheld device that left me totally occupied and unafraid to explore technology.

Furthermore, I never understood the reality of improvements in tech, I just knew I had a new cool toy! Let us not talk about when Nintendo introduced Game Boy Colors! Wow! There was also an article on the home page that spoke of the new Galaxy Fold phone. This was intriguing to me because I love technology and everything that evolved from it (for the most part). Being able to see devices and information that will transform the tech world before they become available is extremely stimulating to me and it inspires me to do more, to do better, to think outside of the box. If you are looking for great resources, please do try these that I have listed!
