The beautiful part about this story is that Bay Area Magic Basketball Travel Club has been in existence for over 20 years. There are some things in life that can’t quite be explained in all of it’s glory, but this right here I’d have to try. In the early 2000’s, I was introduced to this club as a way by which to hone in on my basketball talents. I was given the opportunity to travel with this club to different states and play in front of hundreds of college coaches and scouts. The best part about the Bay Area Magic experience is that I never doubted the level of success and accomplishment that was being ushered my way.

I appreciated not only my teammates for challenging me everyday, but I appreciated the coaching staff for hustling on my behalf; from Rae Jackson (Bottom Left), to Leroy Hurt (Bottom Center), to T.J. (Bottom Right) and everyone in between. I was given major opportunities to shine at tournaments such as the Deep South Classic in North Carolina, End of the Oregon Trail Tournament in Oregon, and Jam-On-It events wherever they took place! For these reasons, I am more than honored and privileged to step into a coaching role with this organization beginning this Spring. I am ready to give back in a capacity that is ten-fold what I was given.

B.A.M., my parents’ sacrifices and my work ethic, are the reasons I attended college on a full ride scholarship, played professionally overseas, and had the opportunity to see parts of the world I never knew existed (literally). This Spring and Summer we will not only introduce your children and players to premier coaching techniques but we will help them develop into productive citizens no matter their environment. Yes, basketball is an amazing opportunity to change one’s life, but learning the basic morals and values of successful individuals, and preparing for the next steps in life (regardless of athletics) are most important.

We look forward to positively effecting your youth, which we care for as our youth. We will be sure to post practice times and dates so that you can bring your child out to experience an intense, college-level way of competing. If they desire to play at the next level, they’ll need to develop the fundamentals in shooting, pivoting, passing, dribbling, finishing, etc. Off the court, your child needs to understand the importance of having an uninterrupted focus when it comes to reaching their goals. That is where The Playbook is in divine partnership with B.A.M. We will host several college prep work shops and money mixers to discuss ways to get your children to college.
